Sometimes He Lets Go

by Maria Terezia Ferencz

There are times a man can no longer hold on
when his hopes, his dreams
his desire for life long gone
he is tired, ashamed he wishes to sleep
torturing his mind..her voice, you said you would...
promises he gave her, he did not keep
the intention was there, he thought he could
wishes, I will, he tries yet again
each time he fails, she reminds, you are less than a man
he is battered, bruised, hurting needing a hand
Cruel lady luck, she was never his friend
he grasps for an edge just beyond his reach
plenty of lessons with no one to teach
these times that a man can no longer hold on
sometimes he lets go
who can say he is wrong?

I really like this. It painted a good story in my head. I'm kind of stuck on the idea of "letting go."
