Sunset

by Charles M Harrison

The deepest colors I have seen
are when the daylight fades to dreams.
As the sun disappears from sight
to herald the coming of the night.
With the very end of day
the rainbows colors come out to play.
God with a giant brush
paints a scene that brings a hush.
Amber, orange, purple and gold,
so much beauty for the sky to hold.
The sun sets and ends the day
the images slowly fade away.
In out minds they still remain
until the Lord paints the sky again.
