Like Eagles

by Charles M Harrison

Could I but fly like eagles dare
My heart my mind my soul to bare.
Could I but soar over earth below,
Look through keen eyes with a golden glow.
Could I but feel what eagles feel,
Free and alive with each new kill.
Could I but appear as eagles do
Regal, noble, and confident all through.
Could I but be like eagles all
Reaching, daring, never fearing to fall.

This piece immediately brought to mind Isaiah 40:31. Another great work Charles! :)
