Sorrowful Poem

by Charles M Harrison

Through the door of time the years they seem to pass
Quietly receding into the looking glass
As if through a porthole to another place
There is a dim reminder of a gentle face
Through a mind so weary, dreary, full of gloom
Come words that only prophesies of impending doom
In the misty veil of darkness a legacy does roam
Written in the phrases of a sorrowful poem
In a place of darkness, in a place so droll
Wanders an aimless, anguished, tortured soul
The time door slowly changes, the images slowly fade
There to remain forever where his heart has stayed
