00:05 by Sam RobertsCigarette has been lit
Wasted away on each breath
Each minute your just thinking.
Hand shakes,
Scorched these April petals white,
Where veins were red blood,
Wrecked for skins worth,
Touching
Strings of flesh that dress skin and suspend
worn down, and worried on your lip
Alive for today,
Asphyxiate tomorrow
You wait for another thought , to drive yourself away
To understand
But you dont understand
You whisper over her like sun warms skin
When the air creeps silence in your bedroom
And caresses your face as you sit by the window.
But in the end your just waiting,
Knowing, neither one will come.
And it cant be trusted,
So waste the cigarette away,
Like your smile for a purple sky
Numb today,
Drive on.

Posted by Richard Trotter on 03/07/05 at 08:40 AM it captures the intensity and emptiness of the moment very well. |
