Milk, Ice, Water, Salt by Vikki OwensTo melt or to burn,
to bleed, to build,
to lay a foundation made
of milk, or ice.
To suspend in currents this body,
this heart and let the water
churn the salt away.
Into a portal of ice, into the depths of the sea,
a foundation washed away, carried back
to the essence of itself,
and then to evaporate..
and leave
a dry seabed,
powdered milk and seasalt. 03/03/2005 Posted on 03/03/2005 Copyright © 2024 Vikki Owens
