Persephone

by Vikki Owens

Decend again, Persephone,
just a taste is all you need.
From your mouth flows the duality, your lips
utter breath of spring
and bring it back again
into the deep.

And here I've loved you, Persephone.
You, always climbing up and then returning to me...
You change your mind
quick as the wind blows.
You are neither here nor there, but with me always.

...vicki, lovely lil' dance with mythology...i scrambled for a dictionary...Pluto's doing his best, eh?...love the "utter a breath of spring and then bring it back down."...nice transition to the interchange-ability of life's awarenesses, realizations, etc...peace, chaz

Vikki, I enjoyed reading your poem. Ancient mythology is one of my interests I had a some wonderful websites about ancient cultures and mythology, which at the moment I can't find. Good work!

I absolutely adored this piece! You take the story of Persephone and make it your own.
