country boy professor by Charlie Morgan
some call him professor,
of course--they're ignorant.
to others he's
just a teacher.
the brave ones call him friend,
they too are ignorant.
they don't see him
as a mirror of them.
wherein,
they stand lost in life's meaning
they've yet to see
thee as me,
me as thee.
he weeps, for his words are music
that would melt the stars
as they dance like bears
to a beat of an oaken drum.

"his words are music
that would melt the stars
as they dance like bears"
I love the pace of the image shifting here. |
