Nobodies

by Charles M Harrison

They are nobodies
With no identities
No fingerprints
To tell who they might be.

They are nobodies
Not yet of this place
Never to get the chance to see
The smile of a mothers face.

They are nobodies
No ones sons and daughters
The ones not wanted by
Their mothers and fathers.

They are nobodies
Their lives never did begin
Killed before they had a chance
To become babes of women and men.

They are nobodies
Not unlike you and me
If no one had loved us
We could have been nobody.

They are nobodies
That this world will never see
But I know in the eyes of the Lord
They are somebody.
