Salome by Vikki OwensI have been a lot more,
Mata Hari, Salome,
I have danced
for John the Baptist,
I have danced,
for Mother Russia,
I have danced,
danced for the dying and the broken,
I have used my body,
and this woman has whispered
..'for his head'.....
Seven veils, fluttering hands,
laying beside you, I have given all.
..'now give me.'...
I have been a lot more,
Salome, Mary Magdelane,
dried my own tears with my own hair,
perfumed you,
now perfume me.
Ask me what I want.
A woman will whisper
...'your head on a silver platter'...

Posted by Nikki Benson on 04/28/05 at 04:56 PM I had to rate you all the best on this one. I know the bible pretty well and the symbolism and facts you used were right on the head. I can really relate to your writing style on this one. If this were one of my works it would be in my story teller section because you are really telling the story first person from Salome's eyes. Good work |
