The Divine Revolution

by Kenneth Lau

From the oceans
The forsaken spill forth, and the horizon
Is a mass of gray specks
The scene begs for the blessing
Of color
The damned scream
For validation
The dream has gone out of this beach
Now it is some kind
Of sick reality of a nightmare
And I know
I KNOW
I cannot belong here

They press their naked bodies
Against the divine wall
Begging
Pleading
For release from the throes of hell

The clouds begin to weep for them
Clear pure drops of water
Fit to bathe in
But I watch in horror as
The colors of my life form
A puddle at my feet

I shudder with
An intense black cold
Shut my eyes and brace myself as
Hell prepares to consume me
But when I open my eyes
Gray has never been so vibrant
Each shade has such a distinct significance that
I have been so blind to...

The masses let loose an
Unholy howl
And I join in toppling the wall
Of men.

Paradise awaits.

Author's Note: Sequel to The Divine Misunderstanding. Fresh from the paper, no editing so far. I was kinda trying to pay attention to class at the same time I wrote it, so editing suggestions would be welcome. Don't ya just love the odd times you get struck with poetic ideas?
