Camp Liberty, Iraq, Home Sweet Home

by Jersey D Gibson

A lot's changed,
since Halliburton's came,
you almost feel at home.

Just ignore the rounds,
ignore the rockets,
and ignore all the locals.

Buy DVD's for $5 for 5,
before they come on the silver screen,
from a hajjie on a camel cart.

Let's count the beans and bullets,
let's notch our weapons again,
let's say our final prayers.

Sleep in a mortar-proof trailer,
eat in a large chow tent,
pretend you're right at home.

Forget all the wounded,
forget all those close calls,
and you almost feel at home.

That is, if your home is,
a sandbox full of killers,
equipped with lots of toys.
