Dig a little deeper; you haven't reached my heart yet

by Ava Blu

On the beach
We made love
The stars danced upon our bodies
One breath-taking instance
S h a t t e r e d
You whispered upon my soul
Every word I had ever desired
As your fist tore through these wounds

My guard
Demolished
Your eyes
Deceptive

I always was a fool

You had your shovel
Ready to bury what was left of me
But you couldn’t penetrate
What I never gave you

I will never let you
Dig again.

This is great, intense and passionate. Really creative style too, that makes the content flow well throughout.

Right on target, this is exactly how it happens. As you first tore through these wounds... how true those words ring.

Jeanna, great words! I enjoy your spacing in all of your poetry - it really adds to the feeling. I would definately define it as your niche.
