Sonnet 3-"For if your heart should travel wayward on" by Lacey Smith For if your heart should travel wayward on
The collapse of mine would surely be the follow
And though I have no hold on what be gone
4 These words are slowly choking back the swallow
I put forth the challenge of your pressing
Though motives be the aftertaste of heart
You say it all in a cold digressing
8 And I relay the time we spend apart
For if you truly meant it all these years
Then time would not be spent in idle waste
And if your voice breed lies within my ears
12 I've no way to explain this sudden haste
But if, as once, your heart may still be mine
Then I eagerly await such a sign
