Sonnet 1-"I've no desire unless with your pursuing" by Lacey Smith I've no desire unless with your pursuing
A sound from which your lofty words begin
And with the terror of your passions knowing
4 Too young to feel such passion from within
Witholding grace by silence often parted
Plunging deep the faith we now ignore
And with your panting breath repentance started
8 No sooner did we newer depths explore
For by my word you choose the newest pace
And pausing with the changing of the touch
But by times passing, a slowly blurring face
12 The later praise of little and of much
For if, in innocence, I be the stronger hold
We've no longer waited than passion grows old 02/21/2005 Posted on 02/23/2005 Copyright © 2024 Lacey Smith
