Over Achiever

by Madeline Pestolesi

My entire future happiness
Is not dependent on a quiz score.
My future as a writer
Will not be destroyed by a "c" grade on a test.
A "b minus" is still better than a c.
And a "c" is better than an "f".

Ten days is a long time until my paper is due,
So I should relax.
But I can't sleep at night
With an unfinished Shakespeare paper,
A redundant Plato paper,
And test anxiety clenching my butt-cheeks long enough to make them sore.
So tell me not to worry,
So I can tell you to shut up.

Yeah, you got to keep with it though, and try not to get discouraged. We can be our worst enemy most of the time, when it comes to stress and getting things done. Gotta stay positive :)
