DEATH

by Phil Walling

DEATH

The world flashed by me, suddenly
As I departed, I cried of forgotten memories.

Deep thoughts in my mind
Made things more kind,
No more pain, I felt
No more sweat, I knelt

Things quieted down to a fraction
Leaves me happy, no more friction

I saw my old friends, oh how I’m happy
The fear is gone, there is no more light...

Leaving behind my hatred and spite
Only to forgive, forget, and now to rest
Without being spoilt, in luxury -
Rest in peace, dear friend, goodbye.
