Sociology and Me by Quinlan L GibsonFire burns to midnight oil.
Stress does grip this ever-loyal.
Finality, change and debt abound;
Stop, breathe and look around.
Not alone, the masses drone
through notes and printed word.
Need the air, top notch care
relief will soon be heard.
Close a book, the test you took,
it will reflect your drive,
inside yearn to end the term
and leave that one behind. 02/19/2005 Author's Note: this was like breathing again alltogether. I have finally gotten one out! I started this piece before this semester and it's Sociology challenge. The last four lines came today, suprisingly at the beginning of Art class.

Posted by Bethany Lee on 02/21/05 at 01:34 AM This was meant to be heard, in voice. But this speaks to me, as a reader, about what I am now going through. Don't you just love when a piece someone has written finds a relation in your Soul?
"Finality, change and debt abound;
Stop, breathe and look around."
I recently moved to FL, away from the bitter memories of Winter, and change is all around. I am mother, wife/lover, matriarch in this moment. debt, oh yes. the next line is a reminder to me to do just what the words say. Live in the moment of today, or else you just might worry the future away.
"through notes and printed word." this is the world i live in.
I know you most likely are referring to a textbook, but I refer to the poetry beneath it. The potent sohbet of the poem.
here i ramble in my reply, in simplicity: well done. |
