Weekend

by Kitty Ness

Pulled into the driveway of my parents' home
after some time away
lightning wrote in the sky
a scribbled note

Got out of my old blue car
expecting dust and balmy heat
but instead I smelled the ocean
the desert wrapped me in kelp

The salty melody of endless water
found its way to my home
to draw me out
and draw me back

Thunder hushed the animals
rain began to pepper the dirt
I have to leave
so I never wake up knowing how to die

I like the relation you make between humanity and nature.. although their lines are blurry most of the time, really exceptional work.
