a laugh at history by Charlie Morgan
...seats filled with 6 yr.old synapses forming
inside skulls, making sense of non-sense.
actors, portraying pathos, agony, loss of self,
inhuman conditions of an early America,
and one missed cue, the sound of the lash
on a runaway's back, not matching the motion,
causes giggles, snickers.
...heads filled with misunderstandings,
misunderstandings perpetuated
onto the inchoate minds of the young.
...theory chucked for Passion!, but instead they laugh,
their cerebellum working to keep balance
and lagging sorely behind Reality.
...women, men at 66 can't drink it all in
and make sense, yet we present it to
6 yr. olds ... Reason wafts, lonely.
