DARKNESS, DEATH AND LIGHT by Phil WallingDARKNESS, DEATH AND LIGHT
Darkness echoes slowly into space
Fills my veins with a rush of grace
An infinite plane of silence on your face
Robs you of a tear, leaves me without a trace.
And within the awesome power of a soul in flight
You reach to grasp many stars in the daylight
But find your skin broken - you lose your grip
You're left diseased in your power trip.
And in all the night, death will feed the darkness
The life within me, my concience and mind digress
You find yourself lacking something less
The ultimate substance is a total mess.
And when I die
I will listen to the sense of all you fools
Who tell me knowledge to tool a tool -
I will hear your cries
I will judge who tell me lies
And those who are desperate to be hurt
Will recieve no water for their thirst.
Darkness echoes slowly into space
Fills our veins with a rush of grace
An infinite plane of silence on my face
Robs me of a tear, leaves me without a trace.
