Christmas sales have dropped off,
profits are on the run.
We need to make a new sale,
so line up for the starting gun.

President's day is so January,
Easter to long away.
So to help us tide over until Summer,
we made up Valentine's Day.

Hallmark your sweetheart,
or face the consequences.
Get her some roses,
and some chocolate, too.

St. Valentine, how are thou doing,
do you see the mockery we made of you?
It's ok, you did this in life,
selling alms to the heathens in Europe.

All the candies have been given,
all the 'love you' cards handed out.
Hope you didn't forget your sweetheart,
the one you wife doesn't know about.

Hallmark your mistress,
E-bay has all the goodies.
Go buy a diamond ring,
everyone's in on the ploy.
