lollipop musing

by Michele Schottelkorb

I lick you like a lollipop

   that has no chewy middle

I crave you like a designer drug

   that solves my endless riddle

I want you like a clever kiss

   to dance upon the rain

I wish you like a four leaf clover

   washed out by my pain

I covet you within my heart,

   desire you for my own

I hunger you, oh clever man,

you throw me from my throne

I crumble you from inside me

   until my need is fed

I despise you, my precious love,

   for messing with my head

This piece really seems to sing to me, hah, at least to the tunes in my head. Exceptional, and thought-provoking work Michele..
