Stolen Dream

by Holly H Dunne

You take me in your arms and stroke my hair
It tickles slightly
but in a nice way

Your touch is tender
but strong at the same time
i could lie here forever

i feel so safe,
so secure,
so complete

i feel a constant inner warmth
and the tiniest little butterflies
the gentle glowing ambience baths the room and
I whisper in your ear "I love you"
And you tilt my chin up and softly kiss my lips

But Morning mocks as she beckons with sunlight fingers
At her touch you quietly fade away
and i awake once more with nothing
to hug but my own knees

Such a warm piece with the slow sadness of morning. Very well written, thank you for sharing.
