at a loss

by Charlie Morgan

...wanting to tell the world
all the ways it pleases me,
and wishing there were more.

still, i sit, fixed on you
as though you're the agent
for all the world's affairs.

and a nod from you gives me
essence and closure to my
looming wishes of the future.

I think I like the essence of the poem, but somehow it's clarity, or lack there of confuses me. Is it about a lover, a family member , a pet, an object (like tv or the internet) or something else?
