Elastic Band by Tota LongmireTension building, pulling
I resist, refuse to go with you
Try to go my own way, then
The elastic band breaks.
Beads fall, scattering
All over the cement.
You were trying to hold me back
And there are muttered apologies
As you scramble around,
Picking up the pieces.
The elastic band broke,
Nothing left to resist my passage
No more tension on my wrist.
You pick up the beads,
Try to put back the pieces
As I just walk slowly away.
Free to take my own path. 02/06/2005 Posted on 02/07/2005 Copyright © 2025 Tota Longmire

Posted by James Cavet on 02/07/05 at 03:03 AM I liked this. It reminded me of my own work. Maybe that's what attracted me to it. Like-material, like-minded maybe? |
Posted by Sarah Graves on 02/10/05 at 02:28 AM There seems to be a sense of liberation in this piece, you breaking away from it. Great work.. |
