before I could rein them in
and ran like wild horses
saddled with sin
try as I might
I could not stop the ride

envy was lagging
neck to neck with greed
pride was ahead
outrunning love
strides ahead of anger
and help from above
sadly leaving pity behind
outrunning my heart
my soul
and my mind
Such was the race
my heart could not win
Pride the wild horse
saddled with sin
