a new beginning by Carolyn Covillegentle waves furl and break;
warm foam rushes for my ankles,
smoothing my sandy footprints.
as it plays with my hair, the wind chills my bare skin.
i shiver, yet am instantly soothed
by the the whoosh then silence of the waves.
on top of rocks,
arms outstretched,
i consume the salty air.
underneath this indigo sky,
my nomadic soul is finally at ease. 05/24/2004 Posted on 01/30/2005 Copyright © 2024 Carolyn Coville

Posted by Indigo Tempesta on 02/01/05 at 12:42 AM i voted for this sucker. mostly cause it has my name in it. ...that's a joke. i like the poem. lots of good images and the language is really alive. i think it could use a bit more forward motion and flow, but it's a great one to have submitted. welcome back. |
