VOICE YOUR THOUGHTS

by Mark Maxey

He was silent
no words escaped from his mouth
crowded thoughts pressed into his mind
he realized no one could understand
what he prayed he could voice

In silence he could be himself
but in spoken words
he feared what it could mean
or what it would convey...if...
he spoke his mind

at times he felt he had no more room for his thoughts
they had to escape somehow
but he could not find a way
that he could be comfortable with

others looked upon him as wise
they thought he was calm
but they may never know
as long as he can't voice his words

Author's Note: found this in a journal I took to our weekly Sat. night poetry reading. I had no recollection of writing this...tho it was in my hand...LOL...got to love when that happens when you re-read your journals...

insightful and honest writing Mark...sometimes writing really is a sub-conscious process, huh? :)
