my little superman

by Mary Ellen Smith

towel tied around his neck
flying all day

running in circles
arms out
he leaps two inches
off the floor
flies over skyscrapers
and clouds.

exhausted,
he falls
and sleeps
half on
half off the bed.

my little superman.

Author's Note: My son Matthew when he was three. He had superman p.j.s and one day I found him like this...asleep. A sweet memory.
