SUNDAY MORNING COFFEE by Mark MaxeySunday morning cup of coffee
A cigarette
And I am relaxing with my boxers and black t-shirt on
Bathing within the memories of last night
Nothing overtly ominous
Just woke up feeling more complete than ever
Reminiscing of our conversation with…
Adobe styled stucco walls surrounding us, Mexican mariachi band playing and the smell of raw meat cooking ssssssizzzszzzling on a hot black cast iron skillet
And our conversation of art, dreams, and desires added a spice to that moment
Looking within your eyes
I saw a passion of fire that could burn down the mission
As you spoke of your art
Venturing past myself
Enveloping the moment with a new experience
I find life more colorful…more alive
Leaving behind narcissistic, egocentric belief patters that are…dying, decaying, and breaking apart
This new experience is like an amoeba, evolving into a life of its own
I am just watching…experiencing and letting it be
Leaving it alone to grow into whatever it is
The night sky was a vibrant grey
Reflecting halos around lighted orbs of life
Resonating with a birth beyond our grasp
Without contextualizing that moment
I found life to be expanding into a universe I have never experienced
And I like it
The ash falls from my ash tray and I take what is the last drop of my coffee
And I greet this day with truth
Knowing this is a journey without a script or plot
And without me directing its pattern
GOOD MORNING WORLD
WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR ME THIS DAY?
