newness

by Shonda Chrissonberry

I need something clean
a fresh beginning
perhaps another experience

at life
and love

to find beauty
in simplistic pleasures

that first kiss
a gentle whisper
my lovers touch

I am ready
I am waiting

for my elusive
salvation
christening itself

you

Author's Note: not really happy with this one, but I have written over words so many times all I can see are the scribbles ~ like I said in the first line...

I really like the simplicity in this. This is going to sound cheesy, but it reminds me of this song in that silly girly movie "Cruel Intentions." I don't remember the title or anything, but I think it's by the Counting Crows maybe?? Anyway, it has the line "I am ready. I am ready for you." The message is the same in both. You are ready and someone will find you.
