Roaming Through Quicksand

by Ava Blu

confusion drowning my heart
lies peeling away my skin
I am numb again

falling from your ledge
your guilt consumes my head
I feel force fed

my shame is stripping
your disease is building
my mouth is dripping

you cannot live in these shoes
I refuse
to give in again

perplexed in deep waters
my soul is exposed

I have no where else to go.

the images in this poem don't seem to flow that well together. it seems that a lot of them are just thrown together to add effect. also, i don't think the broken rhyme pattern adds to this poem. the sentiment is there, just not the form.
