lingering

by Amanda Conlogue

I like the way you linger
the scent of your skin pressed
into mine, stolen minutes
of late afternoon

twilight settling in
and my thoughts
turn like leaves, fall
to you, spiraling in air,
then caught, cradled
by the soft grass
