MORTAL WORLD by Phil WallingMORTAL WORLD
(The voyage home took a million years
Across paths of conciousness and deception
Tangled in the cosmos within my own sphere
To anticipate a warm friendly reception).
The journey -
Deliberate and alone
Through the depths of pain and pleasure
To seek a piece and a place called home.
Security, love
Peace is my treasure.
Though what changes are there waiting me?
I shudder to guess
I hesitate . . .
What balance of mind is now energy?
To seek salvation is not too great. . .
When at last I rest at journey's end
My work is done, I lay my head . .
To you a message I will send -
For in this mortal world
I am dead.
