THE SAME OLD WORRY WART

by Phil Walling

THE SAME OLD WORRY WART

The same old worry wart,
A ship without a chart -
Across a broken sea
In mists of Galilee..
Turns and twists
In misery,
For a few broken dreams..
The shepherd’s flock
Do scream -
Insist,
Persist
Without a choice -
Upstream
Burning
A static voice -
Few leads defend
My dignity,
Across an empty sea -
Pilot of command
To lead a shifty crew -
Do you, do tell,
Of sunken shanties -
Forensic, dialectic prospect,
Do force
A frightened entity -
Collaborate for today
And waves and rise
A land does call -
For even dialect,
Forever social wreck
In about
The sirens fall.

Through the cliffs an angry mob -
Oh find me homely, home
I call a fallen shaft -
An epitaph...
