Winter Dance by Alison McKenzieIm left in awe
A pile of it,
Like autumn leaves
Blown away by winter winds
Sweet lullaby chimes
Slumber singing
While I dream a new dream.
Dont wake me.
I want to abide in the worship,
Dance on the frigid air of knowing -
I know.
I know.
It isnt what I expected;
Not at all the daydreaming sequence
Of imaginations blossoms.
You are still here
With me, in my lungs -
Plasma of my soul,
Book edges softened
By ancient rhythms.
Touch me just once
I need Your hand upon my head
Tell me again -
I am precious.
Keep me through the days.
Don't forget me
When night descends,
When eternity's knocking
Can no longer be ignored.
Regard my heart -
The joy and kindness You've gifted.
Thundering in the awe,
A pile of it
Like autumn leaves,
Winter dancing,
Slumber singing,
While I dream a new dream. 01/10/2005 Posted on 01/10/2005 Copyright © 2025 Alison McKenzie
