call me

by Adrian Calhoun

Outside it's freezing.
Trees are all wearing their
winters best ice suits.
Truck is buried in snow,
and the there's a bone chilling wind.

Inside, i'm a nervous wreck,
emotionally drained.
Brain is deep fried,
heart is racing.

Appetite is strong,
hunger is rampant,
yet cannot eat a thing.
Stomach is in knots
full of butterflys.

Want to run to you,
want to grab hold of you,
kiss your soft lips
with a kiss that lasts forever.

This distance is too far,
yet unknown if it will close.

Insanity creeps in,
hoping, praying, waiting,
for a phone to ring.
Been sitting here all night,
slowly becoming a basket case,
it still hasn't rung.

My hearts as cold and empty
as the roadways.

oh Adrian...such a heart felt plea in the cold of winter...the coldness of winter brought inside.

Sad but well written Adrian. It gave me a mental picture of the scene....Charlie
