only a whisper

by Stephanie Kent

The wind sifts through the leaves,

scattered earthspun gold,

Until they brush the ground
like the footfalls of passing ghosts.

Elegance, in 20 words or less - really lovely.

Like the poem itself, you've given it a soft and gentle voice, Stephanie. It reminds reminds me of the Rocky Mountain Range and how the aspens shimmer in the breeze. Congratulations on becoming The Poet Of The Day. pe4ce...

Ethereal is the word that comes to mind when I read these words. Like the hush of a snowfall, leaves too have their own language. Congratulations on POTD!
