Relativity

by Jane E Pearce

A damp place infests the ground

for the denziens within,

the ant, worm, and bee

moving earth from dawn to dusk

with a mighty industry.

.

Each blade a tree ,

an inch of soil a plain-

a world of quiet civility,

silent ambitions come to pass

that we will never see.

.

The moon, the stars-

our blades of grass,

too vast to understand,

we live in awe of a universe

that says we are grains of sand.
