I saw him first in the pineapple field
I thought for sure my heart my healed
I had thought I wouldn't love again
Forever I had sworn off all men
His charm made me change my mind

There where seven years between us
I was so sure my parents would fuss
So I said that I would wait
Until a much, much later date
I would wait for that far away day
When I could freely give my heart away
