LOSS IS GAIN

by W. Mahlon Purdin

When something is taken away,
Or given away or
Lost or dead ...

It's like what you've always wanted,
Or envied or,
Thought or said,

Was, now you've learned the lesson,
Driven like a spike
Into your head,

What you've cherished and lost
Has left you hanging
By a thread,

Now you must draw on all you know,
Ever dreamt or
Prayed or read.

This one is a bit more graphic for me, but an enjoyable read all the same.

But we do stick to those associations since they are hard to die.
