if we ran away together, we'd only be running away

by Olivia Weinkein

i wish i could recognize you
with your torso swaying helplessly from one
contradiction to the next.
all of these mistakes you've made do not
define you.
but for the last seven days i have been trying to find a way
around them.

seems we truly cannot find it within ourselves to overlook
all things.
the mud that clings to our shoes.
eyes that cannot keep from looking
away.

Author's Note: it's been awhile & this is all i could get out. ughhh.

I like the poem but the title seems unrelated to it. -bf

I like it. Feels like starcrossed or hopeless love, though, and I don't like that. Who does? Yet plenty of wistful passion.
