A Western Final Sequel

by Charles E Minshall

Howdy Ma'am! Our last visit
Was a dang disaster,
That durn ranch boss
Couldn't a been nastier.

For Ol' Slim and me
It was at a high cost,
Half a months pay
Is what we lost.

Not only that
We did get some disgusting chores,
And the ranch boss said
The fault was all yours.

I couldn't stand for that
So I wacked him on the chin,
I ain't gonna wrangle
For the Bar X again.

You know I found out
Ol' Slim was a preacher,
And not only that
At one time a teacher.

I found it hard to believe,
Of course now he's a dapper Dan,
But Whew! Not long ago
He was a foul smellin' Man.

It's a good thing
He cleaned up his act,
Ol' Slims got a gal friend
And that's a dang fact.

I guess now he won't show
His bare bottom to the wind,
Any worn pants he's got
His best gal will mend.

Well Ma'am I gotta ride on out,
I think for Nogales,
Or there's a wrangling job
Down near Dallas.

If I'm up this way ever again
I'll be sure to drop on in.
Nice talkin' to you Ma'am
I sure do hope we can do it again.
