My Habits

by Ava Blu

My habits aren’t worthy of breaking
Too obscure to deserve fixing
Lying is like eating potato chips
- once you taste that first lie, your mouth gets dry and it must tell another and another
until you’ve told so many that you get sick
and you stop remembering the truth
because these lies are the only thing you can swallow

and they’re beginning to choke you now
