jealous heart by Travis G Finborgthe silence of a laugh
distraught amidst the time it takes
to recieve it
I look upward
and see the ceiling
the broken staccato
I’m overwhelmed
in clouds of insecurities
the decadent beast of jealously
rears an ugly head
I rage and fight to run
avoid the hateful breath
a calm emerges
leaves me breathless and puzzled
with my guard down
I lay my head to rest
only to snap awake
a rumble approaches
that I have come to know so well
the beast that tears and shreds
her jealous heart
breaks me down
I can hardly pick myself back up again
