Darkness by Tota LongmireDarkness surrounds me.
Breathing down my neck,
Like a lover wanting kisses.
The warm blackness surrounds
Promising for a time to save me,
Save me from their ever-prying eyes.
My friend, the soft darkness,
Caresses my cheek, wiping away
My tears, and shielding me,
Shielding me from those who
I do not wish to see me cry.
Thank you darkness,
My nightly friend. 12/21/2004 Posted on 12/21/2004 Copyright © 2025 Tota Longmire
