Shriveled Grey Matter

by Madeline Pestolesi

Shriveled grey matter
Rattling in my too-large skull.
Each bump deletes an embarrassment,
Each roll erases a memory
Of what dissolved my brain cells
And turned my brain stem into jerky.

I believe it was "Introduction to Mass Communications" that started it
Or maybe "Advanced Technical Writing,"
But either way
I've been in school much too long.
And all the knowledge
It turning my thoughts
Into shriveled grey matter.

Author's Note: One more final. One more. Ah ha ha ha ha. I laugh with madness.
