Ugly

by Ava Blu

I am beyond ugly
I cannot look anymore
I take these pictures portraying lies
See that confidence
See that ego
I have neither
Pretend for the camera
Falsify myself

Truth:
I am fatter than I have ever been
Uglier than I thought I would ever be

A product of self pity
Even I can’t fake anymore
Lacking more than you
The mirror doesn’t want me to see
I am lacking
Me.

truth well spoken. we project our insecurity on everything and everyone else. when we're happy, we don't do that. everything we aren't is such a burden. so much YOU in this poem that you should take another look at it, especially the last stanza.
