Love That Will Not Let Me Go

by Jane E Pearce

Oh, love that will not let me go,

emblazoned on my heart

since the toy soldiers vied,

and a Steiff was at my side,

tenacious through storms of disbelief,

sophisticated reasoning,

and cold indifference.

Thomas?

I knew Thomas well,

understood what he was about,

but Thomas learned from his doubt.

Essences spiritual can't be viewed.

A deep, deep faith is imbued,

a peaceful calm I now know-

oh, love that will not let me go.

"Lord I believe, help my unbelief." Great work, Jane. What you said in your poem touches me, and reminds me that He is always with us...oooops, getting misty ;-) - it's so awesome!
